"Gratitude can be so large and yet seem so small expressed. I wish I were a poet. I'll say sincerely, though, that I was even more impressed with your easy friendliness and generosity as I was with your flat-out striking results. Having joined you for but a few, delightful hours, my daughters and I left with long-lasting memories and enough lake trout that we each claimed a 'trophy' (and story) and several meals. Thank you so much. You and Laine and the splendid service you provide are one of the gems of northern New Hampshire."

"I would like to thank Ben and Laine at Fair Chase Guide Service for the really sharp looking and well made Bucktail Jigs that they tied for me. I was really impressed by the fact that I could Custom design my jigs from the choice of hooks to the different color patterns, even down to the color of the eyes and the thread to tie them with. I really liked the fast and courteous service that I received, and upon opening my first order I was so impressed by how nice the jigs were, that I emailed Ben and Immediately ordered several more jigs ! If you are tired of the same old mass produced Bucktails that are limited to very few customized features, I would recommend giving the folks at FCGS a call and see what they can do for you !"
Thanks Again folks. I'll See you on the ice.

"I selected Ben Schofield as my guide for the 2007 New Hampshire Moose Hunt. I am an Arkansas resident and knew that I would need to employee the services of an experienced local guide for my hunt. Over the course of my three day hunt Ben was able to put 5 moose (4 Bulls & 1 Cow) within 60 yards of me and my subpermittee. It was our choice not to shoot a moose during the hunt and that certainly does not mean that we weren't successful. We were after the moose hunt experience and that is what we got. Ben is a first class guide. He is professional, experienced, honest, and dedicated to the success of his clients."

"We were up in Vermont over the weekend and went ice fishing on Sunday. Even though the conditions on the ice were good, we had no luck with the fishing. We didn't catch anything! Very disappointing. Our guide was not as good as you either. We also did not have a shanty and the wind was howling and it snowed a bit too. I wanted to thank you again for being such a great guide on our trip to Silver Lake. We'd love to go again sometime!"

"In June of 05 my wife Eva got drawn for her second time to participate in the NH Moose hunt. As happy as we were that she got picked it was at first bitter sweet because she drew H2N as a zone. Being that we were totally unfamiliar with the area and thinking we were going to be fairly close to the Massachusetts border we figured our chances of finding an area to hunt, much less any quantity of moose, were slim to none. To make matters worse we had a very tight schedule in the fall and little vacation time which had already been earmarked for deer season in Maine. For the first time in my 45 years of hunting in NH, I caved in to the thought that perhaps we should enlist the services of a guide......in my home state, the mere thought made my ego shudder. With some encouragement from my wife, and her constant reminder of how delicious the first Moose was, I started the search. Long story short we stumbled onto a very reluctant "Ben Schofield" , reluctant because I told him we only had two days to hunt. Now Ben, I said, don't let that concern you, all I want you to do is find me a spot to hunt, get me access, I will do the rest. Ben did an outstanding job of scouting and getting access to a superb location. The devastating floods in the fall of 05, which hit our zone particularly hard, really increased the difficulty level. Opening day the weather couldn't have gotten much worse, the wind driven torrents of rain and the raw cold were a test. In spite of some of the nastiest conditions I have ever hunted in Ben never wavered. He knew there were plenty of Moose in the area and we were going to harvest a good one. Ben employed his excellent calling skills as we worked our way to the top of the mountain, the weather certainly hindered us. Near the end of the day all of Bens' scouting and perseverance paid off, with the 6th largest bull overall for the 05 season and the largest ever taken in that zone up to that time. He weighed in at 875 dressed with a 52" spread. After the kill Ben worked through the night with me and his folks to get our trophy off the mountain...........I am some glad I didn't let my ego get the best of me. I have hunted with lots of guides in other places over the years, Ben is as good as any I have ever hunted with. He is hard working, knowledgeable, dedicated and honest, you can't get any better than that."
